Astro Rocks Mt Magnet

The Mount Magnet Astro Rocks Festival is celebration held in the Murchinson Geo Region during September, which celebrates the ancient land beneath our feet and associated biodiversity, awesome night sky above and cultural connections, particularly with local Badimia people.

Astro Rocks is driven through the Murchison Georegion initiative, and connects people to the night sky through an astrofest evening with displays and night sky tours, and a range of telescopes focussing on different parts of the night sky, with astronomers to help you and your family explore the universe.

Presentations by experts in the fields of geology, including associated biodiversity and cultural aspects – offer rare insights into this unique Murchison GeoRegion.  Field Trips to geo sites follow, for those who wish to discover more.

A fabulous new addition to the Festival is the Long Table Dinner which celebrates the Cultural aspects of the GeoTourism philosopy, with native plants and food incorporated in a gourmet meal among wonderful company and under the stars. A feast for all of the senses.

Astro Rocks Fest is a free event with fun for all ages, sponsored by Shire of Mount Magnet.
