Library

The library is located in the Rural Transaction Centre (RTC) which is located on the corner of Naughton and Attwood Streets.

In 2000 the old school building was transformed into the RTC which today contains Library, Youth Centre, OP Shop and Meeting Room. The Meeting Room is available for hire, to book please contact the Shire Office on 9963 3000.

The library has a range of fiction and non-fiction books as well as books on cd, large print books, dvds and videos all available for loan.  If we don’t have what you’re looking for on the shelves, please ask as we can order items from the State Library collection.

We also provide a range of second-hand books which are available to buy or swap, a great service for residents and visitors alike.

The library provides computer and internet access. Internet access is charged at $2.00 per 15 minutes, computer access is free for the first hour and $2.00 for each subsequent hour.

The library is also the Centrelink agent for Mount Magnet.

The Library is closed on Public Holidays and over the Christmas/New Year period.
